Abstract

In this paper we discuss the use of probabilistic modeling in the solution of the protein structure prediction problem. Estimation of distribution algorithms (EDAs) based on Markov models are presented as an alternative to other nature-inspired optimization algorithms for the solution of protein simplified models.
